Career Profile - Jackie Barr

Member of the Australian Psychological Society and College of Organisational Psychologists,
Regulated and registered to practice by the British Health Professions Council, The Australian Health Professions Regulatory Board of Australia Medicare and Bupa.

Jackie has worked both as a clinician and organisational psychologist for over 30 years and gained post-graduation (BSc Hons Occupational Psychology) experience in London (UK), and France where a wide range of organisational assessments for small businesses, SME’s and large multi-national companies were undertaken.

Moving into Human Resources she gained valuable international experience delivering manpower planning, recruitment and retention as well as redundancy programmes. She has instigated the use of Assessment Centres into selection and complimented her programmes with developmental programmes at all levels within organisations.

Over the past 10 years Jackie has consulted mainly in the UK, becoming an expert on the Prevention and Management of Stress in the Workplace and in Executive Coaching, Talent Mentoring and other professionals from a wide variety of business backgrounds and experiences. Such work has covered key national Public Sector (Defence, Health, Local Government) and International business (financial & legal sector, local SME's) enterprises. Against this wide and successful backdrop her skills have been widely sought after for radio, TV and press projects. She has been a Chartered Psychologist since 1987.

Practising as a psychologist for over 17 years Jackie provides a one-on-one holistic approach very clearly focused on individual treatment together with organisational development if required. Areas of clinical expertise include stress management, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) anger management, phobias and anxiety disorders where she is an experienced and sought after practitioner of EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

She has lived and worked in the UK, France and Australia. Currently based in the CBD, Adelaide, South Australia, she is globally available for clients, new and old. Jackie continues to consult internationally in both the Organisational and Clinical Psychology domains. A very adept team player she works very well with other psychologists as needs be.
